About Gutter Cleaning Shifnal
Shifnal is a market town and civil parish in the English county of Shropshire, located about 4 miles (6 km) east of Telford, 27 miles (43 km) east of Shrewsbury, the county seat, and 20 miles (32 km) west-northwest of Wolverhampton. It is close to the M54 highway (Junction 4). Its population increased from 6,391 in the 2001 census to 6,776 in the 2011 census.
The town, once called as “Idsall” (referring to possible Roman connections), was most likely founded as an Anglian settlement by the end of the 7th century.
It is believed that Shifnal is the location referred to as “Scuffanhalch” in a 9th-century charter as a property of the monastery in Medeshamstede (later Peterborough Abbey).
Although this assertion looks doubtful because the ancient charter is actually a counterfeit from the 12th century, the complete situation is more complicated. Along with “Costesford” (Cosford), “Scuffanhalch,” and “Stretford,” according to Sir Frank Stenton, these locations were originally associated with Medeshamstede. The charter claims to have been issued by King thelred of Mercia, who was the bishop of Mercia for a significant portion of his reign (or “Saxwulf”).
