About Gutter Maintenance Poynton
Located 11 miles (18 km) south-east of Manchester, 7 miles (11 km) north of Macclesfield, and 5 miles (8 km) south of Stockport, Poynton is a town in the Cheshire region of England. It lies on the easternmost edge of the Cheshire Plain. Poynton joined the Cheshire East unitary authority after the Borough of Macclesfield was abolished in 2009.
The Poynton manor was first mentioned in 1289. Poynton began mining coal in the sixteenth century, and the Lords Vernon owned the area’s major collieries from 1832 until they were shut down in 1935. Better transportation systems were required as a result of increased urbanisation and socioeconomic development; these systems were established with the opening of the Manchester and Birmingham Railway in 1845, the Macclesfield, Bollington and Marple Railway in 1869, and the completion of the Macclesfield Canal through Poynton in 1831. Poynton evolved as a Manchester commuter town in the latter half of the 20th century. To 14,260 in 2011, the population has nearly tripled since 1945.
At the easternmost edge of the Cheshire Plain, Poynton is situated between the Norbury Brook and the Poynton Brook. Between 88 and 190 metres are above sea level on the terrain. The town lies around 17 km southeast of Manchester, 8 km (5.0 mi) from Manchester International Airport, 15 km (or 10 km) from junction 5 of the M56, and 10 km (or 10 mi) from junction 3 of the M60. The North Cheshire Green Belt serves as a divider between Hazel Grove and Bramhall and the primarily residential west of the parish. Two commercial parks are located to the south of the town, while to the east and here, the area is rural and borders Lyme Hall’s former deer park.
