About Gutter Maintenance Sawston
Located on the River Cam, Sawston is a sizable village in Cambridgeshire, England, about seven miles (11 km) south of Cambridge. It has 7,260 residents.
Since the conclusion of World War II, Sawston has had significant expansion, and more recently, many sizable housing estates have been built, mostly to the north and south of the hamlet. Due to its expansion, the Sawston region has begun to encroach on the little neighbouring community of Pampisford.
In the 2013 Local Plan from the South Cambridgeshire District Council, which is presently being examined by the Planning Inspectorate, Sawston has been designated for development to address Cambridgeshire’s ever expanding housing needs.
Construction of a new Community Hub, which would house the Library (in temporary structures after the 2012 fire at the Walnut Gallery, SVC), was supposed to start in 2016, but as of April 2018, it still hasn’t.
A 3,000-seat football stadium to host Cambridge City F.C. has been awarded approval in addition to housing complexes on each side of Babraham Road.
The two main industries in Sawston’s vicinity over the past few centuries have been paper and printing and leather. On the current Spicers location, which bears the name of the family who ran the mill for a century, is the original Sawston paper mill. This facility is situated in the parish’s northwest section.
